Looking back, I think it was helpful seeing what really worked for me and what didn’t. It was very obvious to me whenever I did bad on exams what I was doing wrong. Initially, my biggest struggle was slowing down, because going too fast caused me to misread questions or misinterpret what it was asking. Plus, I need to make sure I am alone with no distractions, because I remember I did not do well on the ATI comp predictor A, which I took while listening to music in the background.

I think my biggest content gaps are pharmacology and medication interactions. I feel like I get those questions, even when I have seen them again and again, wrong every time. With the semester ending, I will have more time to really crack down on pharmacology and solidify those concepts.

Self-care wise, I tried really hard to time manage to ensure I gave myself enough time to complete the exams in a timely manner, and still complete the remediations. I work every other weekend in NH which requires traveling as well so I always had to think of that as well. It just takes extra preparation and planning my weeks out to ensure I knew what the week entailed.

I will use the many time management skills I have developed over this semester. I also think this semester helped with reading and strategy of NCLEX style questions, which will really help when studying and taking the exam. I always knew NCLEX type questions are formulated to highlight important concepts; they want to ensure you know the basics and how to interpret data and prioritize. This semester, and especially this class, was great for practicing, and I think it really helps all of us start our journey of studying and professional practice.
