This picture speaks to me because my goal after nursing school is to become a midwife. I’m not entirely sure why I have a calling for this, but once I figured out I wanted to be a nurse, I soon realized I wanted to be in the labor and delivery room. I think it has something to do with that being the best day of someone’s life; the look of pure happiness on the mothers face makes nothing else matter. However, I am not naïve; I know the happiness is not present in the labor and delivery room after every birth. Those days will be brutal, but I believe I’m mentally strong enough to be there for a mother on those excruciatingly painful day. To be supportive and make a tiny ounce of a day like that a little less painful.

  1. This is really awesome Sarah! It is wonderful to be able to be apart of the process of bringing life into this world and being there with the family as they go through this from the labor, delivery, and birth of a child. I believe you will make a great midwife and be able to help families get through the pain of loosing a child to complications that may arise during this process.
